Darian DeVries and the Indiana Hoosiers are having a solid Monday.

After going the first week of the transfer portal being open without any additions, the Hoosiers landed a commitment from Georgia Tech shooting guard Jaeden Mustaf on Monday afternoon.

Just over an hour later, DeVries kept the momentum going by securing another portal addition to Indiana's back court for 2026-27.

Duke guard Darren Harris commits to Indiana via transer portal

Former Duke guard Darren Harris has now joined Mustaf by committing to the Hoosiers through the transfer portal. He had a visit to Virginia slated for Tuesday, but his commitment to Indiana knocks Ryan Odom and the Cavaliers out of the race.

Harris is a former top-40 recruit in the 2024 recruiting class hailing from Herndon, VA. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Virginia during his senior season in 2023-24.

Harris, a 6'5" 195-pound guard, served as a solid rotation piece for Jon Scheyer's Blue Devils over the last two seasons. During his time in Durham, Harris appeared in 57 games and averaged 2.8 points and 0.9 rebounds per game. This past season, he averaged 3.3 points and 0.8 rebounds while playing 9.7 minutes per game. He now figures to compete for more playing time in DeVries' system in Bloomington.

Harris has strong ties to the Indiana coaching staff, as he has an established relationship with assistant coach Kenny Johnson. Harris played for Team Takeover, an AAU team that competes on the Nike EYBL circuit, while Johnson was program's director and head of travel. Furthermore, Harris played at St. Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, VA, where Johnson was an associate head coach from 2007-11.
