The Indiana Hoosiers are the current frontrunners to land 5-star WR Monshun Sales, but things can change in a hurry.

Earlier this month, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for Curt Cignetti and Indiana to be the winners of Sales' recruitment battle. That prediction came five months after the Alabama Crimson Tide were the original favorites in Sales' recruitment over the winter.

Nothing is set in stone when it comes to Sales' recruitment, and the highly-coveted prospect is gearing up for an official visit to Alabama this weekend. With so much at stake, Kalen DeBoer and company are sure to roll out the red carpet for Sales.

Hours before making his way to Tuscaloosa, Sales shared this photo to his Instagram story earlier this week. The post has Indiana fans sweating as Sales begins his visit with the Crimson Tide.

Monshun Sales' Alabama social media post has Indiana fans on edge

Sales' Instagram story not only features a countdown clock to his visit to Alabama, but a room decorated from floor to ceiling in Alabama Crimson Tide paraphernalia. The 6'5" 195-pound wideout didn't specify which room it was, but context clues lead us to believe it either belongs to his immediate or extended family.

Sales currently plays high school football at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, but he is originally from the state of Alabama. His family has plenty of ties to Alabama, and he grew up cheering on the Crimson Tide. Furthermore, Sales even had the nickname of "Bama" as a kid. Thus, it comes as no surprise that Alabama is among his list of contenders in his closely-followed recruitment process.

Curt Cignetti steals recruiting momentum away from Kyle Whittingham with new commit

Along with Indiana and Alabama, Sales' finalists also include Ohio State, Miami (FL), and Texas. He took an official visit to Indiana earlier this month, and it appears to have gone well. So well in fact, that Wiltfong made his Indiana prediction for Sales just a few days later. However, the battle is still on. After finishing his Alabama visit this weekend, Sales has official visits planned for Texas on June 5, Ohio State on June 12, and Miami (FL) on June 19.

Indiana fans should like where IU stand in the process right now, but they are hoping Sales didn't tip his hand with this Instagram story post. Sales clearly has affinity for both Indiana and Alabama, but only one can win out. Heading into a pivotal weekend of his recruitment, Indiana fans are sweating even more as Sales visits Tuscaloosa.

Sales is among the biggest names in the 2027 class, and is ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Indiana as well as the No. 1 wide receiver in the country according to 247Sports. His elite status could give Cignetti his first 5-star recruit should he choose to head to Bloomington.

Cignetti has already secured eight commitments in IU's 2027 recruiting class, but none would be bigger than Sales. Landing the 5-star talent would undoubtedly be a dream come true for Cignetti and the Hoosiers.
