The month of June has been dominated by recruiting. The top players in the country are in the midst of Official Visit season, and commitments continue to fly around at a rapid pace.

In Bloomington, Curt Cignetti has landed a total of 12 commitments for Indiana's 2027 class, and he remains on the prowl for more talent. The Hoosiers currently hold the No. 31 recruiting class in the country according to Rivals, and still trail behind several Big Ten teams in those rankings.
One team Indiana trails in the recruiting rankings is the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who currently own the No. 17 class in the nation. Matt Rhule was able to pickup another recruiting victory over Cignetti and the Hoosiers on Tuesday night with the commitment of 4-star CB Jaiden Hill.
Nebraska outlasts Indiana and secures commitment from 4-star CB Jaiden Hill
Hailing from Bellflower, California, Hill is a 6'3" cornerback who plays for national powerhouse St. John Bosco. Per Rivals, he is ranked as the No. 32 player at his position and the No. 336 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class.
Hill's list of finalists consisted of Indiana, Washington, and Nebraska. He announced his commitment decision Tuesday night live on the Rivals YouTube channel, and he ultimately chose the Cornhuskers.

Had he committed to Indiana, Hill would have been the Hoosiers' fifth blue chip commit in the 2027 cycle. Furthermore, his Rivals rating of 89.49 would have made him Indiana's fourth-highest ranked recruit in the class behind 4-star EDGE Myles Smith, 4-star OT Mason McDermott, and 4-star DL Reinaldo Lopez. Instead, Hill becomes the 19th commit in Nebraska's 2027 class.
Indiana looking to regain recruiting momentum
Along with missing out on Hill, Indiana also fell short in pursuit of another blue chip recruit this week. On Tuesday, 4-star RB Tre Segarra committed to LSU after including Indiana in his list of finalists. It was a tough blow for Cignetti and company, who were in a strong position to land the coveted running back.
Looking to get some moentum back on the recruiting trail, Cignetti still has a chance to land a pair of impact recruits in the near future. On Friday, 4-star LB Jalaythan Mayfield is set to make his commitment decision between Indiana, Georgia, and Miami (FL).
Indiana is also well-positioned to possibly land its first 5-star recruit out of high school in program history. Lawrence North product Monshun Sales has Indiana featured among his list of finalists, but Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU remain in the mix as well. Landing Sales would be a monster get for Cignetti and the Hoosiers, and his decision could be coming at any time.
If Cignetti lands one or both of Mayfield and Sales, it would deliver the Hoosiers the recruiting momentum they are currently searching for and put Indiana's 2027 recruiting class in phenomenal shape.
