Darian DeVries and the Indiana Hoosiers have had a solid week in the transfer portal. Monday saw DeVries add a trio of guards in Jaeden Mustaf from Georgia Tech, Darren Harris from Duke, and Markus Burton from Notre Dame.
DeVries then got the size he's been looking for in the form of 7'2" SMU center Samet Yigitoglu. There is more work to be done, but those moves give IU basketball fans a better picture of what the 2026-27 roster will look like.
However, it hasn't been all wins for DeVries and company.

Ranick is a 6'11" power forward who is ranked as the No. 98 overall player and No. 24 power forward in the portal according to 247Sports. He has been linked to Indiana over the last few days, but the commitment from Yigitoglu may have caused him to look elsewhere.
Despite seemingly missing out on Rancik, a bigger win could be on the way for DeVries and the Hoosiers.
Indiana still in the running to land Alabama forward Aiden Sherrell
On Tuesday, Jeff Goodman reported that Indiana is the favorite to land Alabama star forward Aiden Sherrell following his visit to Bloomington over the weekend. Sherrell is one of the most sought-after players on the market, as he is ranked as the No. 12 overall player and No. 5 power forward in the portal according to 247Sports.
He owns a solid 6'11" 255-pound frame and averaged 11.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this past season with the Crimson Tide. He also shot an impressive 53.9% from the floor. A front court combination of Yigitoglu and Sherrell would give the Hoosiers the size, physicality, and athleticism they desperately needed last season.
