It's abundantly clear that Indiana's top priority on the recruiting trail at this point in time is WR Monshun Sales.
A 5-star prospect from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Sales is ranked as the No. 2 wideout and No. 7 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class by Rivals. Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers have rolled out the red carpet for Sales throughout the course of his recruitment process, and Sales has shown plenty of love to Indiana on social media in recent weeks.
With Sales' commitment announcement less than 24 hours away, one Indiana football commit is taking to social media in an effort to bring Sales to Bloomington.
Indiana commit Jameson Purcell turns to social media to recruit 5-star WR Monshun Sales
Among the 16 players in Indiana's 2027 recruiting class is 3-star QB Jameson Purcell. The 6'2" 200-pound gunslinger has been committed to the Hoosiers since last July, and is now working to help secure his potential No. 1 target.
On Thursday, Purcell took to social media with a simple message for Sales: "Let's do this."

The QB-WR combo consisting of Purcell and Sales would be exciting to see in Bloomington. Hailing from Park Ridge, IL, Purcell is ranked as the No. 34 quarterback in the country for the 2027 class by Rivals. Last fall, he put together a strong junior season at Maine South High School that saw him complete 62.4% of his passes for 2,871 yards. He threw 28 touchdowns to go along with 9 interceptions, and also added 51 carries for 253 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
Landing 5-star Monshun Sales would change everything for Indiana football recruiting
In Indianapolis, Sales' junior season consisted of a stat line that included 37 catches for 794 yards and 9 touchdowns. 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins describes Sales as a "One of the biggest freakshows in the country with his hulking frame and elite athletic markers." With a strong 6'5" 195-pound frame, Sales has elite potential at the next level.
Purcell, as well as Hoosier football fans across the country, are hoping Sales chooses to stay local and play for the Cream and Crimson.
Monshun Sales to announce commitment decision on Friday, July 17
Sales' commitment announcement will be made live on The Pat McAfee Show at Noon ET on Friday. His final list of contenders includes Indiana, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, and LSU. Indiana has never landed a 5-star high school recruit in program history, so Sales would be making history if he decides to pick Indiana.
As it stands, Indiana's 2027 recruiting class is ranked No. 29 in the country by Rivals. Should Sales join the mix, the Hoosiers would undoubtedly move up in those rankings.
Cignetti and company have put in the work, and now all they can do is wait. Sales is the highest-ranked 2027 recruit who has yet to announce his commitment, so when he does on Friday afternoon, shockwaves are sure to be sent throughout the college football recruiting universe.
