Cignetti has built some incredible recruiting momentum for the Indiana Hoosiers over the last week. His latest commitments not only bolster IU's recruiting classes, but deal tough blows to an arch rival program.

Last week, Indiana made history by securing a commitment from 5-star WR Monshun Sales. He became the first 5-star high school commit in Indiana football history, and his announcement sent shockwaves through the college football universe.

The Fighting Irish were originally in the running for the elite wideout, and at one point were even at the forefront of his recruitment process. "I just love Notre Dame, that's that," Sales said after his Official Visit to Notre Dame last fall. "I just really love Notre Dame."
However, Cignetti and the Hoosiers were able to get the job done and bring the Lawrence North star to Bloomington. Ranked as the No. 7 overall player in the country by Rivals, Sales is the highest-ranked recruit in Indiana football history. That alone is enough to get IU fans fired up, but handing Notre Dame a tough in-state gut punch makes it even better.
Cignetti wasted no time keeping the momentum going. Less than a week later, Indiana landed a commitment from 4-star QB Lukas Prock, who is one of the top gunslingers in the 2028 recruiting class.
The Fighting Irish were among Prock's list of final contenders, but once again, Cignetti got the best of Marcus Freeman and the Irish. When it came down to it, Prock chose to head to Bloomington over South Bend.

Over the years, the top high school players in the nation have never really given the Hoosiers the time of day. Bloomington was never a desired landing spot for blue chip prospects, as schools like Notre Dame would lure the top players from The Hoosier State and from across the country.
But times have changed. Cignetti is 27-2 at the helm of the Indiana football program, and after winning a historic national title last season, that elite success is carrying over into IU's recruiting efforts. Now, Bloomington is firmly on the recruiting map for the top players in the country, and Cignetti has been able to get the job done at a great rate.
Cignetti has already proven he doesn't need a roster full of blue chip prospects to win a national title. But now that he is bringing 4 and 5-stars to Bloomington, imagine what he could do. Thus, it's clear that the Hoosiers have plenty of staying power with Cignetti leading the way. That only makes Notre Dame fans more furious.
