As it stands, Chase Branham is the lone commit in Indiana's 2027 recruiting class. Branham committed to Darian DeVries and the Hoosiers back on September 20, and chose to head to Bloomington over other offers from the likes of Purdue, Iowa, Tennessee, and Missouri, among others.
Branham, rated as a 4-star prospect by both Rivals and 247Sports, hails from Rogersville, MO. He played a leading role in helping Logan-Rogersville High School claim a 4A state title this past spring. The 6'4" 175-pound guard was at his best when it mattered most, as he scored 31 points in the semifinals before collecting 15 points in the championship game.

As the summer moves along, Branham finds himself making yet another climb in the national recruiting rankings for the 2027 cycle.
Indiana commit Chase Branham makes another jump in national recruiting rankings
The updated Rivals Industry Rankings were released on Monday, and Branham has taken yet another substantial leap.
Branham is now ranked as the No. 28 overall player and No. 5 shooting guard in the country. Last fall, the IU commit was ranked as the No. 42 overall player in the nation. In the spring, he claimed the No. 35 spot in the rankings. Now, the Hoosiers have a Top-30 recruit on their hands. Thus, the hype continues to build for Indiana's lone 2027 commit.
Branham averaged a solid 21.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists last season as a junior at Logan-Rogersville. He also shot an impressive 62% from the floor and 41% from beyond the arc. That skill set figures to fit in nicely in Bloomington for Darian DeVries.
Chase Branham transfers to La Lumiere for senior season
Heading into his senior season, Branham will now be playing high school basketball in The Hoosier State. A few weeks ago, Branham announced that he will be transferring from Logan-Rogersville in Missouri to La Lumiere in La Port, IN.
La Lumiere has produced several noteworthy alums in the basketball world in recent seasons. Most notably, Aden Holloway, Jeremy Fears Jr, Jaden Ivey, Isaiah Stewart, and Jordan Poole all played at La Lumiere over the last decade.

Indiana's rosters under DeVries have been primarily constructed through the transfer portal. However, Indiana's incoming 2026 recruiting class features plenty of potential. The class is ranked as the No. 14 class in the country by 247Sports, and features a trio of Top-100 players in the form of Vaughn Karvala, Prince-Alexander Moody, and Trevor Manhertz.
Branham is the lone commit in Indiana's 2027 class, but DeVries is undoubtedly looking to change that in the coming months.
Indiana is among the list of contenders for 5-star prospect Darius Wabbington, and he has Hoosier basketball fans fired up by announcing an Official Visit to Bloomington for the fall. DeVries has yet to land a 5-star recruit in Bloomington, and beating out schools like North Carolina, Kentucky, Arizona, Louisville, and Texas for Wabbington would be a great sight to see.
