Following the decommitment of 4-star WR Ja'Hyde Brown earlier this month, Indiana's 2027 recruiting class is down to four players. The loss of Brown is a tough one, as Curt Cignetti's 2027 class is now ranked No. 28 in the country according to 247Sports.

Looking to continue building that class, Cignetti and has staff have been pursuing 4-star RB Isaiah Rogers. Hailing from Springfield, MA, Rogers is ranked as the No. 15 running back in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He is also the ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the state of Massachusetts.

The Hoosiers are among Rogers' final four contenders, and his commitment decision is quickly approaching.

4-star RB Isaiah Rogers set to announce commitment on Monday

Rogers took to social media earlier this week to announce that he will be making his commitment decision on Monday, March 30. The announcement will come at 2 p.m. ET on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel.

The list of finalists for the highly-touted running back prospect include Indiana, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Georgia.

As his decision draws nearer, Cignetti and the Hoosiers appear to be losing ground in Rogers' commitment. Instead, it's an in-state rival who is the frontrunner.

Indiana battling Notre Dame in Isaiah Rogers' recruitment with decision looming

Last week, Rivals' Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong logged an official prediction for Rogers to commit to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Marcus Freeman and company received a commitment from 4-star RB Lathan Whisenton last week, and adding Rogers to the mix could give the Fighting Irish a solid 1-2 punch in the backfield for years to come.

However, Hoosier fans are still holding on to hope that Rogers pulls a last-minute switch and commits to the cream and crimson. What Cignetti has built in Bloomington has IU well-positioned to land prospects of Rogers' status on a regular basis, and adding him to the 2027 recruiting class would be a big win for Cignetti.

Last season, Rogers racked up 986 yards and 7.8 yards per carry with 15 touchdowns in 10 games. He was also effective in the passing game, bringing in 37 catches for 401 yards and 3 touchdowns.
