The transfer portal has turned the college football world on its head over the last few seasons, but high school recruiting is still a pivotal part of the sport.

As it stands, Curt Cignetti has Indiana's 2027 recruiting class ranked No. 25 in the country according to 247Sports. The Hoosiers' 2027 class suffered a tough blow earlier this month with the decommitment of 4-star WR Ja'Hyde Brown.

Cignetti is now in danger of losing another 2027 commit, as 4-star CB Monsanna Torbert Jr. continues to draw interest from several other Big Ten schools despite his commitment to Indiana.

With a recruiting grade of 0.9320 in the 247Sports Composite, Torbert is the highest-rated player in Indiana's 2027 recruiting class. Hailing from Cincinnati, he is ranked as the No. 7 overall player in Ohio and the No. 26 cornerback in the country by 247Sports.

Brown's grade of 0.8915 made him the second highest-rated player in the class, and his absence dropped IU's recruiting ranking outside of the top-20. Needless to say, losing both Torbert and Brown would be a tough pill to swallow for Indiana.

Torbert committed to Cignetti and the Hoosiers back on January 10, one day after IU's 56-22 win over Oregon in the Peach Bowl. They would go on to win the National Championship 10 days later.

Torbert has received multiple offers since pledging his commitment to Indiana, and several other Big Ten schools remain in pursuit of his services. Most notably, the prized 2027 recruit has received offers from Michigan and Wisconsin over the last few weeks.

He took to social media on March 7 to announce the Badgers had extended an offer.

Furthermore, non-Big Ten teams Auburn, USF, Notre Dame, and Louisville have also extended Torbert an offer since his commitment to Indiana. With so many other schools closing in, Cignetti and his staff are facing mounting pressure to keep him committed.

But Hoosier fans shouldn't be panicking. Despite receiving multiple offers over the last few weeks, Torbert's spring visit schedule only includes a trip to Bloomington on April 17. That could change, but as it stands, IU fans should feel good about Cignetti's chances of hanging on to Torbert.

Along with Torbert, Indiana's 2027 recruiting class includes 3-star QB Jameson Purcell, 3-star S Garyon Hobbs, and 3-star OT Jeremiah Jones.
