Indiana basketball fans are hungry for another March Madness run. Darian DeVries' first season leading the Hoosiers didn't deliver an NCAA Tournament appearance, and he now faces a major roster overhaul heading into his second season in Bloomington.
The incoming recruiting class consisting of Vaughn Karvala, Prince-Alexander Moody, and Trevor Manhertz is a promising start, but DeVries needs to successfully utilize the transfer portal in order to construct IU's roster for 2026-27.
Indiana has a second chance to land Bryson Tiller
On Monday, Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress reported that Kansas forward Bryson Tiller plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on Tuesday, April 7. Tiller put together a strong true freshman season in Lawrence, as he averaged 7.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game. He played in 35 games earning 31 starts, and played just under 26 minutes per game.

In the fall of 2024, Indiana was among the top-four finalists to land Tiller. At the time, Tiller was a five-star prospect and ranked as the No. 16 player in the country for the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

However, Tiller chose to play for Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks. He chose Kansas over Indiana, Auburn, and Georgia Tech. After missing out on Tiller the first time around, Indiana has another chance to bring him to Bloomington.
DeVries has already stated that addressing the front court is priority No. 1 for the Hoosiers during the offseason, and Tiller's size and skill set could make for a perfect fit in IU's front court for 2026-27. He owns a 6'11" 240-pound frame, and is a great rim protector who can bring down rebounds on both ends of the floor.
According to 247Sports, the Atlanta native is ranked as the No. 20 overall player and No. 3 power forward in the portal at this time. After lacking size down low this past season, Tiller could help fix IU's front court in Year 2 of the DeVries era.
