The month of May is an important one in the state of Indiana. Along with the roaring engines of the Indianapolis 500, the engines of the Indiana football program continue to hum on the recruiting trail.
Curt Cignetti and his staff have hosted a high number of prospects on campus throughout the past several weeks, and more are on the way. This coming weekend, a total of 11 prospective Hoosiers will be in Bloomington.
Indiana fans can already circle the hardest game on the 2026 football schedule
As Cignetti continues to build Indiana's future recruiting classes, he has the Hoosiers closing in on a highly-touted prospect.
4-star RB Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes is ranked as the top player in Washington D.C. and the No. 30 running back in the country for the 2027 recruiting class by 247Sports. A number of Big Ten teams remain in the hunt for his services, but Indiana may be making a lasting impression on the talented playmaker.
RB Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes moves up his official visit to Indiana
In March, Talley-Rhodes narrowed down his list of finalists to six teams, and five of them compete in the Big Ten. His list of finalists includes Indiana, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Washington, and Boston College.
Talley-Rhodes has several official visits lined up over the new few months. He was originally slated to come to Bloomington on June 19, but on Thursday he announced that he will now visit Indiana sooner than expected.
Now, the 6'0" 213-pound running back will be in Bloomington for his official visit on May 29.

Curt Cignetti has a lot to sell Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes during his official visit
There's no denying that the Indiana football prgram has taken the college football world by storm under Curt Cignetti. The Hoosier head coach has turned Indiana into a national power, which in turn, gives Bloomington a ton of appeal among potential recruits.
Why one overlooked group of Hoosiers is set to take the world by storm next season
Cignetti has also proven he can target and develop NFL-level talent. In April's NFL Draft, Indiana set a program record by having nine total players selected. That is the kind of development that top recruits are looking to find.
In terms of the running back position, Cignetti and Indiana also have a lot to show off. This past season, Indiana boasted a pair of 1,000-yard rushers in Roman Hemby and Kaelon Black. Together, they were arguably the best running back 1-2 punch in all of college football and played a huge role in Indiana's historic National Championship.
Now, both Black and Hemby are NFL bound. Black was selected in the 3rd Round with the 50th overall selection by the 49ers, while Hemby signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent shortly after the draft concluded.
All of those accomplishments are sure to be points of emphasis for Cignetti and his staff as they continue to pursue Talley-Rhodes. With his official visit quickly approaching, Hoosier football fans are hoping that things continue trending in the right direction.
