College Football 27 ratings are somehow still disrespecting Indiana's elite WR duo

This doesn't make much sense...

Last season, Indiana wideouts Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt were arguably the most lethal receiving duo in all of college football. Looking ahead, the Hoosiers have a great chance to boast an elite WR combination once again this season in the form of Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh.

Hoosier fans know Becker well, as his performance down the stretch played a vital role in IU's College Football Playoff run. Marsh is new to Bloomington, as he transferred to Indiana from Michigan State earlier this offseason. Becker and Marsh are garnering plenty of hype entering the new college football season, but not from the game developers at EA Sports.

EA Sports snubs Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh from College Football 27 WR rankings

One of the most fun aspects of the offseason has been the lead up to the highly-anticipated release of EA Sports College Football 27. The popular gaming franchise returned two years ago, and the latest version of the product is slated to be released on July 9.

As a part of the promotional materials for the release, EA Sports has revealed its full player rankings for each position group. To the surprise of Hoosier fans, neither Becker or Marsh are ranked in EA Sports' Top-10 list of the best wide receivers in the country.

Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith tops the list, and he is the only WR to receive an overall rating of 99. He is followed by Miami's Malachi Toney, Texas' Cam Coleman, and Florida State's Duce Robinson, with Rutgers' KJ Duff rounding out the Top-5. Other players featured in the Top-10 include Alabama's Ryan Coleman-Williams, Texas A&M's Mario Craver, Colorado's Danny Scudero, Houston's Amare Thomas, and Miami's Cooper Barkate.

Shockingly, Becker and Marsh are nowhere to be found.

EA Sports is severely underestimating both Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh

EA Sports' WR rankings are vastly different from ESPN's. Earlier this month, both Becker and Marsh received Top-5 praise in ESPN's wide receiver rankings for the upcoming season. Becker came in at No. 4 and Marsh was one spot behind him at No. 5. That makes EA Sports not including either of them in its Top-10 WR rankings even more surprising.

Over the second half of last season, Becker emerged into arguably the most dangerous receiving threat in the country. The 6'4" 207-pound playmaker collected 27 catches for 522 yards and 3 touchdowns over Indiana's last 7 games, and produced one clutch moment after another during Indiana's CFP run to a national title. He figures to be one of the best receivers in the country this fall.

Adding Marsh to the mix makes Indiana's passing attack even more dangerous. At the time of his commitment to the Hoosiers earlier this offseason, the 6'3" 203-pound wideout was ranked as the No. 17 overall player and No. 2 wide receiver in the portal by On3. Last season, Marsh led Michigan State with 59 catches, 662 receiving yards, and 6 receiving touchdowns in a putrid Spartan passing attack. He excels at racking up yards after the catch, and is a tremendous complement to Becker's elite ability to bring down jump balls and back-shoulder throws.

Together, Becker and Marsh are expected to be among the best WR duos in college football this season. EA Sports is greatly underestimating their potential.
