After leading the Indiana Hoosiers to a historic National Championship last season, Curt Cignetti has re-tooled Indiana's roster for 2026. The Hoosiers lost plenty of elite production from last season, but it's clear that Cignetti has made the moves necessary to give Indiana plenty of staying power next season.

In the offseason, Cignetti signed a top-20 recruiting class in the country and also brought a transfer portal class ranked No. 9 in the country by 247Sports.

Indiana's mass transfer portal exodus continues with most significant loss yet

As spring practice moves along, Cignetti and his staff face a pivotal recruiting month in April.

Critical April stretch ahead for Indiana’s recruiting efforts

Indiana's 2027 recruiting class currently features four players: 4-star CB Monsanna Torbert Jr, 3-star QB Jameson Purcell, 3-star S Garyon Hobbs, and 3-star OT Jeremiah Jones. Given Cignetti's success in Bloomington, it wouldn't be surprising to see Indiana land its best recruiting class in program history when the 2027 cycle is complete.

But that could hinder on how successful of an April Cignetti and the Hoosiers have on the recruiting trail.

On campus could begin on March 2, and several top recruits have already visited Bloomington for spring practice. More visits are lined up for April. Here is a closer look at which recruits have announced their plans to visit Indiana in April.

April 17-19

For the weekend of April 17, a total of five prospects are expected to visit Bloomington. Among them are a pair of IU commits, including 4-star CB Monsanna Torbert Jr, who is Indiana's highest-ranked recruit in the 2027 class. 3-star OT commit Jeremiah Jones is also slated to be on campus.

4-star WR Khalil Taylor (Gibsonia, PA): No. 13 WR in the class

4-star CB Monsanna Torbert Jr. (Cincinnati, OH): No. 24 CB in the class - Committed to IU on January 10

4-star LB Jalaython Mayfield (Lincolnton, NC): No. 18 LB in the class

4-star S Junior Tu'upo (Alabaster, AL): No. 23 S in the class

3-star OT Jeremiah Jones (Michigan City, IN): No. 59 OT in the class

April 24-26

A total of nine prospects are slated to visit Bloomington on the weekend of April 24. The leadliner of the group is 5-star WR Monshun Sales, who hails from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis. Sales is the No. 1 WR in the 2027 class, and recruiting experts have Cignetti and the Hoosiers playing catchup in his recruitment at this point in time. That means his April visit carries plenty of weight.

3-star QB Jameson Purcell is the lone IU commit scheduled to be on campus from April 24-26.

5-star WR Monshun Sales (Indianapolis, IN): No. 1 WR in the class

4-star CB Raheem Flyod (East St. Louis, IL): No. 25 CB in the class

4-star EDGE Jayce Brewer (Indianapolis, IN): No. 26 EDGE in the class

4-star S Kenaz Sullivan (Springfield, VA): No. 33 S in the class

4-star EDGE Keyson Taylor (Rockford, IL): No. 31 EDGE in the class

4-star TE Mason Oglesby (New Palestine, IN): No. 20 TE in the class

4-star LB Antwoine Higgins (Cincinnati, OH): No. 30 LB in the class

3-star QB Jameson Purcell (Park Ridge, IL): No. 35 QB in the class

3-star ATH Brady Scott (Reading, MA): No. 36 ATH in the class

More visits are schedule for May, as visits can run through May 23. After a brief break, they can pick up again from May 28 through June 21.
