The Indiana women's basketball roster continues to get gutted by the transfer portal. The latest Hoosier to announce their intent to enter the transfer portal when it opens next week is freshman Nevaeh Caffey.

Indiana has now seen six players announce their intent to enter the transfer portal. Along with Caffey, Phoenix Stotijn, Faith Wiseman, Jade Ondineme, Chloe Spreen, and Edessa Noyan have all stated their plans to hit the portal.

Those are noteworthy losses, but Caffey is the most significant loss yet.

Caffey was Indiana's starting point guard for all 32 games this season, and averaged 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. She played significant minutes running the Hoosier offense, averaging 31.6 minutes per game which was third on the team.

After such a strong freshman season, Caffey seemed poised to take on an even larger role for the Hoosiers next season. However, her decision to test the portal waters leaves head coach Teri Moren with a tough challenge of rebuilding IU's roster even more for next season.

As it stands, three returning starters are left on the Indiana roster as Maya Makalusky, Lenée Beaumont, and Zania Socka-Nguemen are all expected to return at this time. A total of eight scholarship players are slated to come back, and IU's incoming recruiting class features three players.

The incoming 2026 class features a trio of 4-star prospects in small forward Gigi Battle, small forward Addison Nyemcheck, and point guard Ashlinn James.

The portal is set to open on Monday, April 6, which is the day following the National Championship Game. It will remain open until Monday, April 20. Players can only enter the portal within that 15-day window barring a head coaching change. They can commit to a new school at any time once the portal is open.
