Indiana's quest to repeat as college football National Champions officially began on Thursday with opening day of spring practice.

Along with Indiana newcomers getting a chance to make a strong first impression, Thursday's practice session doubled as a strong recruiting opportunity for Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers.

This transfer running back for Indiana has all the makings of a breakout star

Indiana hosted several top recruits on Thursday, and seems to be making a strong impression on one of the most sought-after QBs in the 2028 recruiting class.

According to Rivals, Indiana is positioning itself as a serious contender for 2028 QB Brady Quinn (no relation to the former Notre Dame QB). Quinn has now been on four visits to Bloomington, which could put the Hoosiers in the drivers seat during his recruitment process.

Quinn told Rivals on Thursday that he keeps coming back to Indiana because "they are building something special." He added that he could see himself donning the cream and crimson for his collegiate career.

Cignetti has had his eye on Quinn for a while, as he extended an offer to him last summer on June 10, 2025.

Hailing from Hollywood, FL, Quinn is rated as a 3-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 17 QB in the country for the 2028 class by the 247Sports Composite. He owns a 6'1" 195-pound frame and has racked up over 15 offers from Power 4 schools all across the country.

Quinn's visit to Indiana was the second on his spring visit calendar. He visited Clemson last weekend and is now set to visit Notre Dame, Purdue, and SMU in the coming days. Other stops on his spring schedule include Miami (FL), Alabama, and Kentucky.

Indiana's 2028 recruiting class has no commitments at this point in time. But with Quinn making four stops to Bloomington over the last year, it wouldn't be surprising to see IU stay in the running to land his services as his recruitment process continues on.
