Few names have drawn more attention in the 2027 recruiting class than WR Monshun Sales. It's for good reason, as Sales is one of the most highly-touted prospects out there and has a lengthy list of offers than includes top college football programs across the country.
Hailing from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Sales is ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Indiana and the No. 1 wide receiver in the country according to 247Sports. Furthermore, he is ranked as the No. 7 overall recruit in the nation by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Given his Indiana connection, Sales has been a top recruiting target for Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers. Following a historic 16-0 season that culminated in a National Championship, Indiana is well-positioned in the hunt to land Sales.
In fact, the Hoosiers could be considered the frontrunners at this point in time. Last week, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for Sales to end up in Bloomington. It's a development that gives Indiana a ton of momentum in Sales' recruitment, but was it a bit premature?
Monshun Sales makes telling social media statement following Indiana prediction
In the days following Wiltfong's prediction, Sales took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the prediction with a telling post.
i keep my head down and work ion talk to nobody i don’t care about the criticism the predictions the cameras etc i only care about GOD & Lawrence North in this process if it isn’t about those things don’t hml💯 pic.twitter.com/sv1jwyR0xd

In addition, Sales posted a more NSFW version of his response to his Instagram account. You can find the post linked here, but be warned, it contains mature language.
Sales' recent social media activity demonstrates that he may not be the biggest fan of Wiltfong's prediction, but by no means does that indicate that IU is out of the race. Sales' recent visit to Bloomington appears to have gone extremely well, and the 5-star prospect has shown Indiana plenty of love on social media over the last few months.
Indiana and Alabama continue battling for 5-star WR Monshun Sales
While he currently plays high school football in Indiana, Sales is a native of Alabama and grew up rooting for the Crimson Tide. He even had a nickname of "Bama" growing up.
Alabama was considered the early frontrunner in Sales' recruitment, but it's clear that Indiana has made up a ton of ground. As the battle continues, Sales is slated to take an official visit down to Tuscaloosa later this month on May 29.
Along with Indiana and Alabama, other teams still in the mix for Sales' services include Texas, Ohio State, and Miami (FL). After his Alabama visit, Sales will then visit Texas on June 5, Ohio State on June 12, and Miami (FL) on June 19.
In a recruitment process that has already featured plenty of unexpected twists and turns, it seems that the race is far from over. A lot can happen over the next few weeks, but as it stands, Indiana football fans have to be feeling good about where Cignetti and the Hoosiers stand.
