Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers are looking to make a massive statement on the recruiting trail.
Indiana remains in pursuit of WR Monshun Sales, who is ranked as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Indiana and the No. 1 wide receiver in the country for the 2027 recruiting class according to 247Sports.
Hailing from Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Sales' recent visit to Bloomington could have Cignetti and the Hoosers closing the gap on the highly-coveted prospect's recruiting battle. His visit to Indiana was his first official visit of the spring, which is a great sign for Hoosier football fans. Sales is still set to visit Alabama on May 29, Texas on June 5, Ohio State on June 12, and Miami (FL) on June 19, but the momentum appears to be firmly on IU's side at this time.
After Sales' latest social media post, that momentum seems to still be building.
5-star target Monshun Sales shows love to Indiana QB commit Jameson Purcell on social media
On Tuesday night, Sales took to X (formerly Twitter) to show some love to one of IU's incoming recruits.
QB Jameson Purcell is one of four players that currently makes up Indiana's 2027 recruiting class, and he continues to garner plenty of hype. Last week, the 3-star QB landed an invite to this summer's Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles, which is among the most prestigious honors for high school quarterbacks. It brings together 20 of the country’s elite signal-callers for three days of competition and training in late May.
In a post from Tom Loy of 247Sports about Purcell's performance in the Elite 11 regionals, Sales made sure to give the Hoosier QB commit some attention.

Does this hint at a potential Purcell/Sales connection in Bloomington? Only time will tell, but it's certainly a good sign that things are going well for Indiana's recruiting efforts of Sales.
As he continues weighing his options and waiting for more official visits to take place, Indiana football fans have to like seeing Sales show Indiana some love on social media. It's not the first time Sales has shown Indiana love on social media, and by all appearances, he seems to have a strong relationship with Cignetti, the coaching staff, and the current players. This post from his X account also shows he is tight with the incoming commits as well.

His visit to Bloomington appears to have gone extremely well, and Rivals' Steve Wiltfong even said afterword that the Hoosiers may have grabbed the pole position as Sales' process continues.
Along with Purcell, Indiana's 2027 recruiting class features 4-star CB Monsanna Torbet Jr, 3-star S Garyon Hobbs, and 3-star OT Jeremiah Jones. Cignetti and company still have a lot of work to do if they want to land Sales, but things appear to be moving in the right direction.
