The big question entering this contest relates to Nebraska's big-game woes over the last decade. Nebraska's last win over a ranked opponent came back on Sept. 17, 2016 against No. 22 Oregon. Since then, the Huskers have dropped 31 consecutive games to Top-25 opponents. During Matt Rhule's tenure in Lincoln, he is 0-9 against ranked opponents. Needless to say, the Cornhusker faithful are starving for a ranked win, and with the defending National Champions coming to town, Memorial Stadium in Lincoln is sure to be rocking from the very beginning.
Via DraftKings Sportsbook, Indiana is favored by 7.5 points. It's the closest point spread of the season so far for the Hoosiers. Indiana has struggled to cover the spread this season, going just 1-4 against the number through its first five games. IU's lone cover of the young season came last week against Rutgers. On the other side, Nebraska is 4-1 against the number.
It's imperative that Indiana isn't caught looking ahead in this matchup. The Hoosiers are set to battle the Ohio State Buckeyes next week in what is one of the most highly-anticipated games of the entire college football season. But Nebraska presents an interesting challenge that Indiana can't afford to take lightly.
These teams last met during Curt Cignetti's first season at Indiana back in 2024. The Hoosiers won in emphatic fashion, winning by a final score of 56-7 in Bloomington. A lot has changed since then, and this year's matchup should be a lot closer. Here's to a great Saturday of Hoosier football!
