Senior linebacker Aiden Fisher and junior cornerback D'Angelo Ponds have been named to The Sporting News 2025 preseason All-America first team, the national publication announced today.

The Indiana Hoosiers are coming off an 11-2 season and an appearance in the College Football Playoff.  Their only losses on the season came against the two teams that played in the national title game, Notre Dame and Ohio State in their first season under Curt Cignetti.

Led by Aiden Fisher and D'Angelo Ponds the Indiana defense was the second-best total defense in the nation in yards allowing 256.3 yards per game. Indiana’s run defense was the best in the country as the Hoosiers gave up 80.2 yards per contest and only 5.2 rushing first downs per game. The pass defense was dominate with Amare Ferrell and Ponds leading the way, as Indiana only allowed 176.1 per game through the air and were also top ten in turnover rate.
