Darian DeVries has Indiana's roster for next season in much better shape than it was two weeks ago. DeVries faced a near complete roster rebuild, as rising sophomore Trent Sisley is the only returning player from DeVries' first season at the helm of the Hoosier basketball program.

DeVries and executive director of basketball Ryan Carr have completely re-vamped IU's roster over the last week, bringing in six players via the transfer portal. The class is currently ranked as the No. 1 portal class in the country by On3, giving Hoosier basketball fans high hopes for Year 2 of the DeVries era.

With all of those additions, top portal targets on Indiana's wish list are now looking elsewhere for their new teams. One such player is Tulane guard Rowan Brumbaugh, who has announced his commitment to his new team.

As one of the top scorers available on the market, Brumbaugh was linked to the Hoosiers when the portal first opened up back on April 7. However, with the back court additions of Markus Burton, Jaeden Mustaf, Darren Harris, and Bryce Lindsay, Brumbaugh has decided to pass on joining the Hoosiers next season.

On Sunday night, Brumbaugh announced his commitment to SMU.

Brumbaugh is ranked as the No. 62 overall player and the No. 13 point guard in the portal by On3. This past season, he paced Tulane and ranked 2nd in the American scoring 19.2 points per game this season. He also averaged 4.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, giving him a well-rounded offensive skill set that would have worked well in DeVries' system.

He also shot 45.2% from the floor, 36.0% from three, and owns a career free throw percentage of 80.6%. For his efforts, Brumbuagh earned All-American Conference Second Team honors.

The Washington, D.C. native now heads to Dallas for his final season of college basketball. He is the first portal commit for the Mustangs.

It's the second player move between SMU and Indiana this offseason, as the Hoosiers brought in former Mustang Samet Yigitoglu via the portal. His 7'2" frame gives Indiana the true center it desperately needed.
