The No. 22 Indiana Hoosiers and No. 9 Illinois Fighting Illini are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana next Saturday night.

The Hoosiers and Fighting Illini are set to kickoff on NBC and the Peacock streaming platform in a nationally-televised top 25 showdown. The game will be featured on NBC's primetime "Big Ten Saturday Night" slot.

The game will also be a “red out” Indiana announced, under the lights.

If both teams remain ranked in the AP poll next week, it will be the first game at Memorial Stadium with Indiana and its opponent ranked at the same time since 2020.

Indiana takes on Indiana State while Illinois faces Western Michigan this Saturday, both are heavy favorites at home.

This will also be both teams Big Ten opener and a potential for the game of the week on both major college football networks Fox and ESPN. Bloomington is likely going to be the destination for ESPN's "College GameDay," which was last in Bloomington in 2024, when Indiana hosted Washington.

The main alternate and notable matchups in Week 4 are Florida at No. 5 Miami, No. 11 South Carolina at No. 25 Missouri and No. 24 Auburn at No. 11 Oklahoma. I think ESPN will switch things up and give two programs that rarely get this spotlight to shine next Saturday. This Saturday game day will be in Knoxville for a SEC heavyweight matchup, when Georgia takes on Tennessee.

Indiana has previously announced the Illinois game has sold out.

The Illnois Fighting Illini have 46-26-2 all-time series lead. This is Curt Cignetti’s first matchup against Illinois — the last time the teams played came in 2023, when Illinois defeated IU, 48-45 in a overtime win in Champaign, IL. Indiana won the last meeting in Bloomington, a 23-20 final in the 2022 season-opener.
