On Sunday night, Bubba Cunningham assured the country and college basketball fans all across the globe that he and the NCAA tournament committee have no bias towards any team as North Carolina Tar Heels beat out Indiana, Boise State Ohio State for final NCAA Tournament spot. The only problem fans have with that is that Bubba Cunningham is the selection committee chair and the UNC athletic director.

On the Championship Selection Show on CBS, Cunningham spoke about any potential bias towards the Tar Heels making the field of 68 with him as chair. Keith Gill, who is the the Sun Belt commissioner and this season’s vice chair said he Cunningham had to leave the room when discussing North Carolina. Gill also stated Cunningham, UNC's AD had no impact on that process involving the Tar Heels.

Those words by Bubba Cunningham did not stop social media to reacting to the Selection Sunday mess that happened.

North Carolina does have to win a play in game to advance, they will meet San Diego State on Tuesday at 9 p.m. in one of the First Four showdowns. The winner will advance to face Ole Miss who is the No. 6 seed in the South.

Indiana had a 19-13 overall record and went 10-10 in Big Ten play. The Hoosiers were 4-13 in Quad 1 games, while North Carolina was 22-13 overall, 13-7 in ACC play and 1-12 in Quad 1 games in 2024-25.
