After a late season surge and push, it wasn't quite good enough for Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball to get selected in the 2025 NCAA tournament for March Madness.

For the second straight season Indiana men’s basketball misses NCAA Tournament. In the 2024-25 season Indiana was up and down but ended the season strong but their 19-13 record was not enough for them to land in the NCAA tourmament this year.

The Hoosiers entered Sunday largely considered to be on the NCAA Tournament bubble with a projected seeeding of 11 or 12 but the bubble has officially bursted and Mike Woodson’s four-year tenure as head coach has all but ended.

The last four in: Texas, Xavier, San Diego State and North Carolina. The first four out: West Virgina, Indiana, Ohio State and Boise State.

The Hoosiers were 4-13 in Quad 1 games, with wins over in state rival Purdue, Michigan State and two wins over Ohio State who also missed out on March Madness.

The Hoosiers ranked No. 54 in the NET, which put them behind fellow bubble teams in No. 36 University of North Carolina, No. 39 University of Texas and No. 45 Xavier University, among others. All three programs received bids to March Madness.

In the preseason, Indiana was predicted to finish second in the Big Ten and ended up finshing ouside of the top ten. Indiana's basketball program is not expected to play in a secondary postseason play tournaments which include the NIT or the Crown.

A total of eight Big Ten teams made the 2025 NCAA tournament: Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Maryland, Purdue, UCLA and Oregon.

The transfer portal opens on Monday, March 24 and the coaching search continues for the Hoosiers this off-season. Let's hope this is the last streak of Indiana not making the NCAA tournament field.
