The 2026 NBA Draft has come and gone, and not surprisingly, no Indiana Hoosiers were selected. There was a small chance that either Lamar Wilkerson or Tucker DeVries could sneak into the later part of the 2nd Round, as they were both listed on ESPN's Top-100 NBA Draft Board. But in the end, both Hoosiers were on the outside looking in.
However, Wilkerson has still gained an NBA opportunity after the draft. Shortly after the draft wrapped up, it was announced that Wilkerson had signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It's an exciting opportunity for Wilkerson, who put forth a tremendous campaign during his lone season in Bloomington. But it doesn't mean he is NBA-bound from the jump.
An Exhibit-10 contract is not guaranteed. From here, Wilkerson will be on OKC's Summer League roster, and will likely receive an invitation to training camp after that. If Wilkerson is waived by the Thunder, they will still keep his rights for their G League affiliate, the Oklahoma City Blue. If he makes the NBA roster in the fall, he will receive a one-year, NBA minimum salary contract.
Lamar Wilkerson looking to take his scoring prowess to the NBA
Wilkerson spent three seasons at Sam Houston State before transferring to Indiana for his senior season. He made the most of his opportunity, as he was one of the top scorers in the entire country. The Ashdown, AR native was paced the Hoosiers and ranked 2nd in the Big Ten by scoring 20.9 points per game in 2025-26.
Wilkerson was even better when going up against conference opponents, as he scored an impressive 23.2 points per game in Big Ten play. In total, Wilkerson's 464 points against Big Ten competition were the most in a single season in IU program history. In addition, his 70 three-pointers in conference play were also a single season program record.
Indiana just scheduled the perfect exhibition game as Darian DeVries enters Year 2
Wilkerson can score in a wide variety of ways, and his sharp-shooting ability from beyond the arc makes him capable of making some noise in the NBA. The 6'6" guard put up two 40-point performance on the season, which was highlighted by a 44-point game on December 9 against Penn State. He set another Indiana program record by knocking down 10 three-pointers in that contest. Two months later, he orchestrated a 40-point performance on February 9 against Oregon.
Wilkerson is set to join a Thunder franchise that has been among the best in the NBA over the last few seasons. Oklahoma City won the NBA Finals last season in 2024-25, and made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals this past season before ultimately falling short to Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs.
With an elite core consisting of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Ajay Mitchell, and Jalen Williams, the Thunder seem to have a bright future ahead as well. Hoosier basketball fans are hoping Wilkerson's scoring prowess can help play a part in that future.
