The Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball program is coming off an 18-14 season in which they went just 6-12 in Big Ten play. It was an all-around disappointing season for Teri Moren's squad, who missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018-19. Heading into the new 2026-27 college basketball season, the Hoosiers are looking to get back on track.
Several key contributors are gone, as Shay Ciezki and Jerni Kiaku ran out of eligibility after last season. Furthermore, a total of six players decided to leave Bloomington via the transfer portal back in the spring. That leaves Moren and her staff with plenty of production to replace from last year's team. But with that being said, Indiana retains several noteworthy players including redshirt junior Lenée Beaumont and junior Zania Socka-Ngueman are back, and they both averaged double-digit points per game last season.

Moren also signed a Top-10 recruiting class in the country. The class is led by 4-star guard GiGi Battle, who is ranked as the No. 37 overall player in the country for the 2026 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports. Other incoming freshmen include 4-star wing Addison Nyemchek and 4-star guard Ashlinn James. Former Iowa State forward Alisa Williams comes to the Hoosiers in the portal after averaging 4.8 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Cyclones in 2025-26.

After an exhibition game against Marian on Oct. 28, Indiana starts the new season on Nov. 3 against Florida Gulf Coast. The Hoosiers will play their first six games of the season at Assembly Hall before heading to Florida for the Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off in November.
