Indiana women’s basketball last game was against Illinois 68-54 in a 14 point loss. They will try to bounce back in their toughest matchup of the season when they take on No. 4 ranked USC Trojans led by All-American superstar JuJu Watkins.
The question all Indiana fans is simple, can Teri Moren's Hoosiers pull off the massive upset at home against USC who was one of the pre-season favorites to win the national title? The simple answer is yes but it's going to take a true team effort.
USC WBB is not just Watkins and Gottlieb who just won her 300th game of her career it's one of the best rosters from top to bottom in the nation. USC's 16-1 start to the season and 6-0 start in conference play has them projected as a No.1 seed and well on their way to a possible Final Four berth.
Through 17 games so far this season, Watkins is averaging 25.5 points per game but her side kicks Kiki Iriafen, Talia Von Oelhoffen and Kennedy Smith are also all-conference players.
Indiana will be lead by Yarden Garzon who is averaging 13.9 points per game. Forwards Lilly Meister, Karoline Striplin along with guards Sydney Parrish and Chloe Moore-McNeil will also need huge impacts on Sunday for the Hoosiers to pull the massive upset.
I think this game comes down to turnovers, tempo, three point shooting and transition buckets and USC wins in every category in that aspect. USC wins this ball game in a tight one, 85-69 over Indiana. I believe IU will stay in the game early but USC pulls away heavy in the third and fourth quarters.
