Indiana men’s basketball snaps 2-game skid and wins in overtime at Ohio State

Indiana men’s basketball (14-5, 5-3 Big Ten) won a must win overtime thriller against Ohio State at Value City Arena in Columbus, Ohio Friday night 77-76.

Ohio State led 35-29 at halftime, but fought, scratched and clawed their way back into the game before letting the Buckeyes go back and fourth with them all night.

The Hoosiers were up on Ohio State with a 68-58 lead with 5:12 but they held off the Buckeyes after four lead changes from that moment until their was 1:07 left in OT.

Indiana transfer forward Luke Goode hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:07 left on the clock in overtime to help his team escape with win tonight.

Goode, had a career-high and team leading 23 points while star center Oumar Ballo finished the game with 21 points and 15 rebounds.

Indiana also had a short bench tonight with forward Malik Reneau and Bryson Tucker both missing tonight's game. Reneau, who’s averaging 14.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, has missed five games in a row now dating back to the Jan. 2nd game versus Rutgers.

Mackenzie Mgbako also added to IU's struggles, the star forward had foul trouble all game and only finished with six points.

Indiana will have a few day to rest and get healthy as their next game isn't until (Wed) on Jan 22nd against (11-6, 2-4) Northwestern in Evanston (IL).
