Cignetti is hopeful that Martin can return at some point in the middle of the season, but an official timeline has yet to be announced. Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr have been thriving in the backfield so far this season, and they figure to continue being a dynamic 1-2 punch for the Hoosiers moving forward with Martin out.
WR Lebron Bond: OUT
Lebron Bond has been out for several weeks and missed both the Howard and Western Kentucky games. The nature of his injury hasn't been disclosed, but he has officially been ruled out for the Northwestern game on Friday night. After missing three consecutive contests, Bond will look to be available for Indiana's Week 5 matchup against Rutgers.
CB Carson Williams: OUT
Carson Williams has seen limited playing time early on this season and has now been ruled out for Friday's matchup against Northwestern. The redshirt sophomore entered the season as a depth piece in Indiana's secondary, and has recorded 2.0 tackles on the young season. He earned Freshman all-American honors and won an FCS National Championship at Montana State last season.
CB A.J. Harris: Doubtful
Penn State transfer CB A.J. Harris came to Indiana with high hopes after being named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten with the Nittany Lions last season. He suffered an undisclosed injury in Week 1 against North Texas, and has been unable to return to the field since. Heading into the Big Ten opener on Friday night, Harris is listed as doubtful. In his absence, Ryland Gandy and Jaylen Bell will likely continue to see increased usage at the cornerback position.
K Nico Radicic: Questionable
Placekicker Nico Radicic has surprisingly ruled out against Howard shortly before kick-off in Week 2. Cignetti stated that Radicic is dealing with a back issue, and he hasn't been available since Week 1. He remains questionable for the Northwestern game as of this publishing on Friday morning.
