The Indiana Hoosiers cruised to three victories in the non-conference slate, but now the competition will pick up with the start of Big Ten play. Indiana's first conference matchup comes against Northwestern on Friday night at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington.

The Wildcats are 2-0 with wins over South Dakota State and Colorado, and figure to have a much-improved offense under new offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. The Hoosiers are favored by a significant margin, but they can't afford to take the Wildcats lightly. Kick-off is slated for 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX.
Men's basketball begins practice for the 2026-27 season
Fall is officially here, which means basketball season is right around the corner. The IU men's basketball team is looking to take a big step forward in Year 2 of the Darian DeVries era. His first season in Bloomington ended in underwhelming fashion, as the Hoosiers went 18-14 overall with a 9-11 mark in Big Ten play and missed the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in the last 10 years.
DeVries made several noteworthy additions through the transfer portal, which included bringing in 6'11" power forward Aiden Sherrell from Alabama, 7'2" center Samet Yigitoglu from SMU, and 5'11" point guard Markus Burton from Notre Dame. Practice has officially started up, and IU hoops fans are looking forward to a better season in 2026-27.

Indiana WBB lands commitment from 4-star guard Brookeslee Colvin
The Indiana women's basketball program landed a commitment from 2027 4-star prospect Brookeslee Colvin earlier this week. Colvin hails from Coeur d'Alene High School in Idaho, and is coming off a junior season in which she averaged 30.9 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 5.4 steals per game according to MaxPreps.
She chose Indiana over a list of contenders that included Michigan, UCLA, and Penn State. It's a solid get for Teri Moren and her staff, as Colvin is the highest-ranked high school recruit to commit to the IU women's basketball program in the rankings era. Welcome to Bloomington, Brookeslee!
IU men's soccer stays undefeated, will host Penn State this weekend
The Indiana men's soccer team heads into the weekend ranked as the No. 2 team in the country. The Hoosiers are 7-0-2 on the season, and played No. 12 Wisconsin to a 1-1 tie earlier this week. Next up for the Cream and Crimson is a home matchup against Penn State on Friday afternoon. The Nittany Lions are 2-4 on the season, and kick-off is slated for 1 p.m. ET, just hours before the football game begins later in the evening.
