The Indiana Hoosiers are set for a high-stakes showdown with the Ohio State Buckeyes this coming weekend. It's one of the most anticipated games of the entire college football season, and is sure to deliver plenty of fireworks.

This is a game that has been circled on the calendars of college football fans for months, and is the biggest game to take place at Memorial Stadium in quite some time––maybe ever. As it stands, Indiana is 6-0 and ranked No. 7 in the country while Ohio State is 5-1 and ranked at No. 5.

With so much hype and anticipation for this monumental Big Ten clash, many thought that College GameDay would make its way to Bloomington in Week 7. The famous pregame show visits the biggest games each week of the season, and Bloomington seemed like the favorite landing spot for Indiana vs Ohio State.

But instead, College GameDay is heading west. On Saturday night, ESPN announced that College GameDay will be on site in Provo ahead of the matchup between Notre Dame and BYU.

The game between the Fighting Irish and Cougars is sure to be a good one, as Notre Dame is ranked No. 3 and BYU is ranked No. 8. It's also a historic trip, as College GameDay hasn't been to Provo since 2009. But with all that being said, passing up on the Indiana vs Ohio State game is a surprising decision.

College GameDay should be in Bloomington for Indiana vs Ohio State

The Week 7 matchup between Indiana and Ohio State will have plenty on the line. The Hoosiers are riding a 22-game winning streak, while the Buckeyes have already suffered a loss earlier this season to Texas. That means their sense of urgency will be through the roof knowing they can't afford more missteps in the hunt for the College Football Playoff.

The clash between Indiana vs Ohio State also has plenty of championship pedigree, as it features the last two National Champions. OSU won it all in 2024 and IU went all the way last season. Conversely, both Notre Dame and BYU missed the CFP last season. Notre Dame infamously refused to play a bowl game, while BYU beat Georgia Tech in the Pop Tarts Bowl.

The Hoosiers and Buckeyes have also built up quite the rivalry over the past few seasons. The Buckeyes defeated Indiana in Columbus back in 2024, which to this day remains Curt Cignetti's lone Big Ten regular season loss at Indiana. Cignetti and the Hoosiers were able to get their revenge in last year's Big Ten Championship Game in a hard-fought and emotional 13-10 win. That victory started Indiana's incredible postseason run to a 16-0 season and historic National Championship.

No matter how you slice it, this weekend's clash between the Hoosiers and Buckeyes is paving the way for an instant classic. It's a shame College GameDay won't be there to showcase the raucous environment in Bloomington.
