Indiana football fans are anxiously awaiting a decision from 5-star WR Monshun Sales.

Curt Cignetti has Indiana firmly in the mix, and the Hoosiers could even be considered the frontrunners to land the star from Lawrence North High School. While he is considering Indiana, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, and LSU, Sales is predicted to end up in Bloomington by several recruiting experts. In fact, the Rivals Industry Consensus gives Indiana a strong 81.7% chance to secure a commitment from Sales.

But nothing is set in stone, and the drama and speculation surrounding Sales' highly-anticipated decision is not going away any time soon. As Hoosier fans wait to that decision, Indiana's hold on the 5-star wideout is being seriously tested by Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns.

Monshun Sales isn't counting out Texas in his recruitment

Throughout the course of his recruitment process, Sales has been quite active on social media. He posted pitcures from each of his Official Visits, and has generally shown plenty of love to each of his lsit of finalists -- especially his hometown Hoosiers. But this week, Sales has primarily given plenty of love to Texas.

On Monday, Texas commit Brock Williams took to social media in an effort to bring Sales to Austin. Sales re-posted Williams' post to his own page.

Then, Sales re-posted an article from Hook'em Headlines that focused on Texas staying in the race for the 5-star product.

In the story, writer Sam Fariss notes that Sarkisian and the Longhorns may be more involved in the Sales Sweepstakes than originally thought. Sales re-posting the story has continued to fuel rumors that Texas is keeping pace with his other list of contenders who have been though to be further ahead in their efforts to land a commitment from Sales.

What makes the Longhorns an interesting player in the Sales Sweepstakes is the fact that the Longhorns have already landed a 5-star WR in the 2027 cycle. Easton Royal committed to Texas on November 29, and pairing him with Sales in the same recruiting class would be a major get for Sarkisian.

Adding another dimension to the situation are rumors of a potential flip for Royal. Several other programs, including LSU, continue to work to flip him away from Texas. No matter what happens on that front, it's clear that the Sales to Texas speculation isn't going away.

Indiana fans anxiously awaiting decision from 5-star WR Monshun Sales

Ranked as the No. 1 WR and No. 8 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 cycle by Rivals, Sales is one of the most coveted recruits in the nation. He is one of just three 5-star recruits who have yet to announce their commitments.

Sales has yet to announce a decision date, but one could be coming soon. With all of his Official Visits wrapped up, it wouldn't be surprising to see Sales announce his decision in the next week or two.

But until that happens, Indiana football fans will be waiting on the edge of their seats. If Sales chooses the Hoosiers, he will become Indiana's first 5-star high school commit in program history.
