Darian DeVries and his Men's Indiana basketball staff have offered one of the top 2027 recruits from the state of Wisconsin in small forward Jack Kohnen.
The 6-foot-6 Kohnen is ranked as the No. 66 overall player in the 2027 class. The Slinger, Wisconsin native is also the 19th best small forward in the class and No. 3 player in the state of Wisconsin according to the 247Sports Composite
Kohnen also holds offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Marquette, Wake Forest, Western Illinois, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and others.
After a great talk with @IndianaMBB, I am grateful and honored to receive an offer from Coach Darian DeVries and staff to Indiana University #gohoosiers🔴⚪️ pic.twitter.com/3FXq9eYPvn

Kohnen attends Slinger H.S. in Slinger, Wisconsin. As a sophomore Kohnen averaged 23.1 points, 12.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.6 blocks while 54.5% shooting from the field and 34.6% from three point range according to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. He earned Division 2 All-State honors.
On the Nike EYBL Circuit during the summer, Kohnen averaged 14.9 points and 8.6 rebounds while shooting 37% from three in seven Peach Jam games for Tyler Herro's "Team Herro". He is a teammate of Dooney Johnson, who Indiana offered earlier this year. Johnson is the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin and still one of the top priorities on Indiana's recruiting board for this upcoming class.
He finished with at least 25 points in 14 games as a sophomore, showcasing his two-way ability for his size. His defensive abilty mixed with his elite shooting from three point range make him the perfect fit for what Darian DeVries and Indiana are trying to build with their new look roster.
Indiana has missed out on a few top recruits over the past several months and currently just hold one commit in the 2027 class in four-star guard Chase Branham. They also hold one recruit for the 2026 class in Prince Alexander-Moody.
