Fifth-year Indiana senior center Dallas James has officially entered the transfer portal, leaving Indiana with zero players returning from last seasons team in 2024-25.

James entered the transfer portal Monday, according to 247Sports

Dallas James, now becomes the eighth different Indiana Hoosier to enter the transfer portal after new head coach Darian DeVries took over the program just over a month ago in March.

James didn't play last season under Mike Woodson and Indiana, recording zero minutes of playing time on the court.

The son of longtime NBA veteran center Jerome James, who played 11 seasons in the NBA with the Sacramento Kings, Seattle Supersonics and New York Knicks, played his first four college seasons in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference at South Carolina State.

At South Carolina State, Dallas James had an up and down career with a lot of play earlier on in his career but lacked production.

James played in 13 games and made two starts, averaging 1.7 points and a rebound in 6.2 minutes per game as a freshman.

In his sophomore season James appeared in only eight games, averaging 0.8 points and 1.9 rebounds in 4.8 minutes per game.

He saw slight production in his junior year averaging 2.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 9.5 minutes per game while shooting 58.3 percent from the floor.

James' final season at South Carolina State, was underwhelming as he played in 26 games and made 14 starts. He averaged 0.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 blocked shots in 7.3 minutes per game.

The 7-foot, 220-pound center from Artesia, California was not ranked coming out of high school and only had one offer from a D1 school which was South Carolina State.

As a grad transfer, James will have one year of eligibility remaining.

This off-season Indiana has gained Jason Drake,Tucker DeVries, Conor Enright, Reed Bailey, Lamar Wilkerson, Jasai Miles and Tayton Conerway in the transfer portal.
