At Ranger, he was the Texas Association Basketball Coaches Men’s Player of the Year in 2023 where Conerway averaged 15.7 points and 6.2 rebounds in 35 total games.
In 2023-24, he averaged 11.8 points as the sixth man for Troy.
He started in 2024-25 averaging 14.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 steals per game, shooting 47.1% percent from the field. Troy went 23-11 overall winning a Sun Belt Conference championship regular season and tournament title while advancing to their third NCAA Tournament in school history. Troy lost in the first round to Kentucky, 76-57. It was the first time Troy reached the NCAA tournament since 2017.
Conerway was listed as a senior this past season, but got a year of eligibility back following the NCAA’s "Diego Pavia ruling" in December of 2024.
Troy's head basketball coach Scott Cross drew high praise of Conerway: "Tayton is extremely deserving of this honor," his former head coach Scott Cross said. "He is an absolute stat sheet stuffer with points, rebounds, assists and steals, while shooting high percentages across the board. He is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses."
The 6-foot-3 guard won Sun Belt Player of the year and was named first team All- Sun Belt and to the first team All-Sun Belt defensive team.
Conerway has one year of eligibility remaining.
