Washington D.C. native Jordan Smith Jr. announced on Thursday that he has received an offer from Darian DeVries and the new Hoosiers men's basketball staff. Smith announced the news on his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts.

Smith is a 5-star prospect according to ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals.  He’s a consensus national top-10 prospect and the No. 1 shooting guard in the 2026 recruiting class.

According to 247Sports Composite he is the No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Virginia, the No.1 shooting guard and the fourth best player overall nationally in the 2026 class.

Indiana target Jordan Smith Jr., averaged 18.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game for the No. 11-ranked team in the MaxPreps Top 25 last season. The 6-foot-3, 200 pound combo guard led the Panthers to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championship, producing a game-high 29 points in a 58-54 win vs. Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.) in the title game per Max Preps

Smith also has offers from Duke, Louisville, Georgetown, St John's, North Carolina State, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, UConn, Michigan, North Carolina, Houston, Arkansas, Villanova and many others.

This past summer Smith was also a member of the Gold-Medal Winning USA Basketball Men’s U17 National Team in Istanbul, Turkey.

Indiana's current roster for next season includes Tucker DeVries, Conor Enright, Reed Bailey, Jasai Miles, Lamar Wilkerson, Tayton Conerway, Jason Drake, Nick Dorn, Sam Alexis, Josh Harris and incoming freshman Trent Sisley.
