Indiana football lands under-the-radar safety for 18th commit of 2026 class

Sunshine state native and 2026 defensive back commits to Indiana football

5-foot-10, 180-pound two-star safety LaRon Dues has announced his commitment to the Indiana Hoosiers on Tuesday evening after spending this weekend in Bloomington at Indiana's summer camp.

Dues who attends Cardinal Mooney H.S. in Sarasota, Florida selected Indiana over App State, Arizona, Kentucky, Memphis, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Oregon and USF.

A versatile two-way athlete, Dues is being recruited as either a wide receiver or defensive back. He’s coming off a strong season defensively and projects as a free safety or nickel corner, recording 81 tackles, 5 interceptions, and 25 pass breakups as a junior last season.

Dues is part of an Indiana 2026 commit class which ranks top-25 nationally and top-10 in the Big Ten. His commitment makes Indiana's class rise to 18 total for the 2026 recruiting season.
