As Darian DeVries prepares for his second season leading the Indiana basketball program, a trip across international waters is a part of the preparation process.
The Hoosiers are set to represent the United States in the International University Sports Federation America Games from July 20-August 1 in Lima, Peru. The tournament gives IU a chance to build team chemistry both on and off the floor, and with only one player from last year's roster returning, the extra practice time creates a great opportunity for the Hoosiers to become a more cohesive unit.
Indiana's non-conference schedule could be about to get a lot more interesting
With tip-off for the tournament drawing nearer, the jerseys that Indiana will don for the international contests have been revealed.
Indiana to wear USA-themed jerseys for the FISU America Games in Peru
As the Hoosiers take the floor in Peru, they won't be wearing their normal Cream and Crimson uniforms. Instead, they will be repping the red, white, and blue with special USA-themed jerseys.
The uniforms display "USA" text across the chest in the classic "Hoosier bold" font. The IU logo is featured on the back collar of the jerseys as well as on the shorts. Two jerseys are featured, one in white with blue lettering and red numbering, and one in blue with white text and red numbers.

In a year that has featured the Olympics and the World Cup, Indiana sporting USA-themed jerseys goes along with the theme of international competition in 2026. The jerseys are a clean and aesthetically appealing look that blends the iconic Indiana branding with America's red, white, and blue coloring.
It remains to be seen if these jerseys will ever be available for purchasing, but if they ever hit the shelves, they figure to be a highly sought-after item.
Indiana prepares for international competition
The FISU American Games feature a plethora of college programs representing their respective countries. Since 1949, the International University Sports Federation has put an extreme focus on expanding the role and reach of university sport around the world. FISU aims to provide students and athletes with valuable experiences that support their the health and wellbeing through sport that in turn, helps them become active members in a global setting.
While Indiana's first game in Peru doesn't come until July 20, the Hoosiers will play an international contest on home soil next week. Indiana will take on the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf of Canada on Wednesday, July 15 at Assembly Hall. The exhibition contest is also a part of the FISU games, and is open to the public. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
Once the Hoosiers get down to Peru, they will play in a pool with Argentina, Brazil, and Peru. The two-week trip figures to be a great team-building event and give the Hoosiers a chance to continue preparing for a vital second season for DeVries. After going 18-14 and missing the NCAA Tournament in Year 1, Hoosier hoops fans are hungry for a much better campaign in 2026-27.
