The Indiana Hoosiers basketball program kicked off the unofficial season with their exhibition game against the Puerto Rican team 'Universidad de Bayamon'.
IU basketball defeated Universidad de Bayamon, 98-47 in a dominate performance to kick-off their 3 game tour in Puerto Rico.
Freshman Trent Sisley led the way for Indiana in his first college basketball game of his career with 21 points, Florida transfer Sam Alexis had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Harris was the next leading scorer with a 13 point double double, also collecting 10 rebounds stats per Indy Star
Indiana did struggle shooting from three point range (9-of-33) 27.2% and from the free-throw line (7-of-14) 50%.
Next up for the Hoosiers, they will play back-to-back games against Mega Superbet, the same Serbian club Indiana faced during their preseason tour in the Bahamas four years ago under Mike Woodson.
Indiana will be without Bosnian freshman center Andrej Acimovic, who is scheduling a visa appointment with the U.S. Embassy and is expected be in Bloomington by the end of August.
Freshman guard Aleksa Ristic, who arrived July 30 at Indiana, is questionable to play in Puerto Rico. He has only been on the team for a full week, coming over from the U19 Serbian National Team.
