Currently, McWhorter has a trip planned in March during spring practices and another planned for June for an unofficial visit according to 247Sports. He plans to make his official visit June 6th through the 8th.
As a sophomore in 2023, McWhorter threw for 2,128 yards and 20 touchdowns while completing 65% of his pass attempts. He ran for 530 yards on the ground, along with another five touchdowns.
His junior year was cut short due to a broken fibula and dislocated ankle, which required surgery, beofre the injury he totaled 1200 yards of total offense, 14 touchdowns, and a 72% completion percentage.
Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti is working to try and build his recruiting class for 2026, but so far he only has one commitment from three-star offensive lineman, Sam Simpson from Wisconsin.
The junior day event in Bloomington really showcased the young quarterback what the Hoosier program is about and that is what caught his eye about Indiana.
Here's what McWhorter said about Indiana's 2024 success:
"What sticks out the most is how in year one Coach Cignetti came in and proved himself," he said about the 2024 IU season. "Week after week they would get doubted and they would still carry on and shock the world and move on like nothing happened."
