Hoosiers football land their first commit from the 2026 class in three-star OL Sam Simpson

Sam Simpson is the first recruit to commit to the Indiana Hoosiers from the class of 2026

2026 three-star offensive lineman Samuel Simpson from River Falls (Wisconsin) has committed to head coach Curt Cignetti, offensive line coach Bob Bostad and the Indiana Hoosiers football program.

Simpson is a 6 foot 4, 285 pound interior offensive lineman who will likely play guard in college at the next level when he arrives in Bloomington.

The Wisconsin native is ranked as the No. 48 interior offensive lineman in the 2026 class and the second best prospect in the state of Wisconsin according to 247Sports Composite.

Sam Simpson also held offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Iowa, Kansas State, Kansas, South Dakota State and Wisconsin.

What sold Simpson on Indiana was two major keys, academics and coaching staffs. Simpson will be in great hands under Bob Bostad who has coached Mike Katic, Carter Smith, Trey Wedig, Zach Carpenter honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2022, center Joe Tippmann who was drafted in the second round in 2023 by the New York Jets, and guard Tyler Beach who signed as a UDFA with the Houston Texans.

Bostad also is known for coaching and mentoring Gabe Carimi (2010 Outland Trophy winner), Kevin Zeitler, and Dallas Cowboys All-Pro center Travis Frederick, also three were first round picks in the NFL Draft.

Indiana and Bostad recently landed offensive lineman Pat Coogan from Notre Dame for the 2025 season.
