Four-star point guard Chase Branham announced his commitment to the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday evening. Branham chose Indiana over Iowa, Creighton, Kansas State, Missouri, Purdue and Tennessee.

“From the coaches, to the players, to the place, it just felt like home,” Branham said on his Instagram account.

The Logan-Rogersville (MO) native took his official visit to Bloomington, this past weekend and he took an unofficial visit to Indiana back in May and earned a scholarship offer from Indiana and Darian DeVries in late March.

Branham is a four-star commit on both 247Sports and Rivals. Per 247Sports, Branham is the nation's No. 33 player nationally, the No. 8 point guard and the No. 2 player in the state of Missouri. Rivals ranks Branham as the nation's No. 42 player overall, its No. 12 shooting guard and the No. 4 player from the state of Missouri.

Branham was recently named the Player of the Year for his district and received All-State honors. He also plays for KC Run GMC AAU program.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 19.2 points, 5.0 assists and 2.7 rebounds as a sophomore last season and shot 62 percent from the field according to the Springfield News-Leader

Branham was also invited to USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp that will take place October 10-12 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Branham’s trainer, Jordan Walton, praised his game in an interview with the Springfield News-Leader in late December.

“We compare him to a basketball robot or like an alien,” Walton said. “His processing speed and ability to understand things immediately… you have to explain things three-to-nine times with most kids. Chase finishes your sentences. It’s really weird. Working out with him is a different experience than any experience with anyone else.”

He is the first commit from the 2027 class for Indiana basketball and Branham could be the impact player Darian DeVries needed to get their groove started after the 2025-26 season.

Branham is a crafty, confident scorer and playmaker with high basketball IQ, clutch shooting, and a great ability to get to the free throw line. He excels at creating his own shot, especially from the mid-range and by driving to the bucket. He is a perfect fit for Indiana's offense and will likely be in a Hoosier uniform for multiple years as he is a top notch prospect but not considered a one and done type talent.

The Hoosiers remain in contention for 7-foot center Ethan Taylor, Virginia forward Latrell Allmond and top-10 Ohio wing Anthony Thompson, who plays AAU basketball with Indiana Elite. All three of those players are members of the 2026 class.

The lone 2026 class commit is Virginia native and guard Prince Moody-Alexander.
