This is the fourth time in the last 12 games Indiana has been involved with ESPN’s College GameDay. The show was on site when Washington came to Bloomington last October, and at Ohio State and Notre Dame (CFP) later in the season for Indiana road games.
Alabama vs. Missouri and Ohio State vs. Illinois were also under consideration for this week's episode of College Gameday but on Sunday night Oregon was the selection.
This will be the Indiana Hoosiers first trip to Autzen Stadium since 2004 when Indiana defeated Oregon 30-24.
The No. 8 Indiana Hoosiers are expected to move up in the rankings this week after UCLA upset No. 7 Penn State 42-37 Saturday, making the matchup even bigger come Saturday. Indiana entered this week’s bye with a 5-0 record thanks to a close win on the road at Iowa last weekend, 20-15.
The Ducks are 20-13 all-time when playing in a game featured by "College GameDay," including 9-3 at home. Oregon improved to 8-4 all-time on the road when "College GameDay" is on hand by defeating No. 9 Penn State on Sept. 27 in double overtime.
Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza will be the stars of the show on Saturday. Both quarterbacks are Heisman favorites and considered to be first round picks in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
Moore has been playing out of his mind under offensive coordninator Will Stein and head coach Danning Lanning as his first season as starter. Moore has thrown for 1,210 yards and 14 touchdowns with only one interception. While Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, has been playing at an extremely high level himself in his first season in Bloomington under Mike Shanahan and Curt Cignetti. The junior, Mendoza has thrown for 1,208 yards and 16 touchdowns with one interception.
This matchup is a great shot for both Indiana and Oregon to lock in their College Football Playoff chances as the winner will be 6-0 with a 3-0 record in Big Ten play. The Ducks are tough to beat in Eugene but, but if any coach is going to have his team ready to shock the world it's Curt Cignetti.
