After a strong month of May on the recruiting trail, Curt Cignetti has Indiana football fans waiting to see what he does next. Cignetti has bolstered Indiana's 2027 recruiting class by securing six commitments over the last month, and several more could be on the way sooner rather than later.

Cignetti continues to eye several top 2027 recruits, including 5-star WR Monshun Sales, 4-star OL Dominic Black, and 3-star RB Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes. The Hoosiers are among the finalists for all three prospects, and Talley-Rhodes is on the verge of making his commitment announcement.

The 6'0" 213-pound tailback from Washington, D.C. will announce his commitment decision on Wednesday, June 3, and things are looking good for the Hoosiers.

Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes gives Indiana a social media shoutout days before his commitment date

In March, Talley-Rhodes announced that his six finalists included Indiana, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Washington, and Boston College. However, Indiana might now be standing out from the pack.

Talley-Rhodes took an official visit to Indiana last month, and shortly afterward announced that he had moved his commitment date up to June 3. Furthermore, he also cancelled his visit to Wisconsin, which was planned for the weekend of June 5. Those developments have things looking good for Cignetti and company.

The good vibes for Indiana continued over the weekend when Talley-Rhodes took to X (formerly Twitter) to show the Cream and Crimson some love.

"Had a great time on my OV can't wait to get back," said Talley-Rhodes. He also tagged Indiana RB coach John Miller and assistant RB coach Justice Ellison in the post.

Does that hint at a potential Indiana commitment? We will find out on Wednesday, but IU football fans have to be feeling good about where the Hoosiers stand leading up to Talley-Rhodes' fast-approaching decision date.

Indiana has all the momentum in Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes' recruitment

Helping Indiana's momentum in the recruitment of Talley-Rhodes is the fact that Rivals' Steve Wiltfong posted an official prediction for the 3-star RB to land in Bloomington. The prediction came shortly after Talley-Rhodes moved his commitment announcement up to June 3. It's a significant prediction when considering the fact that Wiltfong is 8-for-8 on his predictions so far in 2027 and 54-for-62 (.87.1%) all-time.

Ranked as the No. 1 overall player in Washington, D.C. and the No. 30 RB in the country by 247Sports, Talley-Rhodes rushed for 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns during his senior season at St. John's College High School in the nation's capital. For his efforts, he was named First Team All-Washington D.C. metro area.

Running back is a position that has yet to be featured in Indiana's 2027 recruiting class. The Hoosiers have all the momentum right now, but landing a commitment from Talley-Rhodes would continue the recent hot streak that Cignetti is on.
