Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers put in some solid work on the recruiting trail during the month of May. Cignetti secured commitments from six different prospects last month, and has brought Indiana's 2027 recruiting class to feature nine players. The class is now ranked No. 35 in the country according to 247Sports.
The calendar has now flipped to June, and Cignetti is looking to keep the momentum going. One player the Hoosiers have been in pursuit of over thepast several months is 4-star OL prospect Dominic Black.
The crucial month that will define the 2026 season for Curt Cignetti and Indiana
Cignetti extended an offer to the New Madison, OH native on April 18, and Black took an official visit to Indiana during the weekend of May 15. His list of finalists is now down to five teams, and Indiana is firmly in the mix to secure his services.
4-star OL target Dominic Black sets commitment date
On Monday, Black took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce his commitment date, and Hoosier fans won't have to wait long. The 6'5" 290-pound offensive lineman will announce his decision next week on Wednesday, June 10.
Along with Indiana, Black's list of finalists include Michigan State, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.

Following his official visit to Bloomington last month, Black is slated to visit Kentucky this weekend starting on June 5. He also has visits scheduled for Michigan State and Virginia Tech later this month, but depending on what his decision is, those visits may not end up taking place.
Hoosier fans have to like where Indiana stands at this point in time. It bodes well for IU that Black has set his decision date both after his visit to Bloomington and before his official visits to multiple other competing teams. Now Hoosier fans are hoping Cignetti can make it official next week.
Curt Cignetti can continue bolstering IU's offensive line by securing a commitment from Dominic Black
Black is ranked as the No. 5 overall player in the state of Ohio and the No. 18 offensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports. Nationally, he is ranked as the No. 126 overall player in the nation.
Cignetti sealing the deal with Black would be a great recruiting win, as he would become Indiana's highest-ranked recruit in its 2027 class. He would also be the third four-star prospect to join the class, joining fellow offensive lineman Mason McDermott and EDGE Myles Smith.
Black would also be the third OL commit of IU's 2027 class, joining McDermott and 3-star OL Jeremiah Jones. McDermott is ranked as the No. 39 offensive tackle in the country, while Jones is ranked as the No. 68 offensive tackle.
While IU fans wait for Black's decision date, they are also waiting for another commitment decision from another top 2027 target this week. 3-star RB Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes is set to decide between Indiana, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Washington, and Boston College on Wednesday, June 3.
