After a recruiting hot streak that saw Indiana land eight commitments in the span of four weeks, Curt Cignetti is looking to start another heater.

The Hoosiers have secured a pair of commitments in June, but haven't added any new faces to its 2027 recruiting class since last Tuesday. In that time, several other Big Ten teams have caught fire on the recruiting trail, which has Cignetti needing to get back on track with a solid recruiting win.

That next win has a chance to come on Wednesday afternoon, as 4-star OL target Dominic Black is set to announce his commitment decision. Black's list of finalists includes Indiana, Michigan State, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech.

4-star OL Dominic Black to announce commitment decision on Wednesday

Hailing from New Madison, OH, Black is ranked as the No. 9 player in the state of Ohio and the No. 12 offensive lineman in the country by Rivals. Cignetti extended an offer to the 6'5" 280-pound prospect earlier this spring on April 18, and Black took an official visit to Indiana during the weekend of May 15.

Hoosier fans don't have to wait long to hear Black's decision. The 4-star recruit is set to announce his commitment at 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday afternoon. His decision will be broadcast live on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel.

Following his visit to Bloomington last month, Black most recently took an Official Visit to Kentucky this past weekend. His decision date coming just a few days after that visit have some recruiting experts thinking he will commit to the Wildcats, but Cignetti and the Hoosiers can't be counted out.

Dominic Black would fit right in Indiana's 2027 recruiting class

Cignetti's success at Indiana speaks for itself, and it's clear the the IU program has plenty of staying power in the near future with Cignetti leading the way. No other school can post the recent dominance that Indiana can, and Hoosier fans are hoping that made a lasting impact on Black during his recruitment process.

Ranking the 3 biggest needs Curt Cignetti must address in the 2027 recruiting class

As it stands, Indiana's 2027 recruiting class features 11 total players and a pair of offensive linemen. The top-ranked player in the class comes in the form of 4-star OT Mason McDermott, and if Black commits to Indiana on Wednesday, the pair have strong potential to be a great combination up front for the Hoosiers in the future.

Indiana's 2027 group of commits is currently ranked as the No. 29 recruiting class in the country by Rivals. If Black commits, he will become the fourth blue-chip recruit in the class, and will undoubtedly continue to push IU up in the national recruiting rankings.
