He was graded the No. 3 coverage cornerback in the Big Ten per Pro Football Focus (84.7) during the regular season.
Ponds appeared in all 13 games with 12 starts. He totaled 55 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss. The sophomore also had three interceptions and broke up nine passes, including two pick six int's against Nebraska and Washington.
Indiana will have three returning All-Americans in Ponds, inside linebacker Aiden Fisher and defensive end Mikial Kamara all led by Broyles Award finalist coordinator Bryant Haines.
Ponds was named First Team All-Big Ten by the media and coaches' voting panel and Football Writers Assocation of America (FWAA). He was also named a Second Team All-American from CBS Sports.
Notably, only five players on the list are not from the Big Ten or the SEC conference, showing just how dominate those two conferences have been with recruiting, NIL spending and talent development.
Indiana's spring game will be held on April 19th. The Hoosiers begin their 2025 season at home against Old Dominion from the Sun Belt Conference.
