4-star RB Isaiah Rogers has been a name Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers have been pursuing for a while. Cignetti extended an offer to the dynamic running back last summer on July 16, and with 4-star WR Ja'Hyde Brown walking back his commitment from Indiana earlier this month, IU had a great opportunity to add a playmaker like Rogers to its 2027 recruiting class.

Rogers made his highly-anticipated commitment announcement on Monday afternoon, and unfortunately, he won't be heading to Bloomington.

4-star RB Isaiah Rogers chooses Notre Dame over Indiana

Rogers announced to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish live on the CBS Sports College Football YouTube channel. He chose Notre Dame over Indiana, Georgia, and Penn State.

The move isn't necessarily surprising, as Notre Dame has been the frontrunner to land Rogers' services over the last few weeks. Last week, Rivals' Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong logged an official prediction for Rogers to commit to Marcus Freeman and the Irish. That prediction is now a reality.

Rogers hails from Springfield, MA, and is ranked as the No. 15 running back in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. Last season during his 10-game junior season, Rogers ran for 986 yards and 7.8 yards per carry and scored 15 rushing touchdowns. He also chipped in through the passing game, hauling in 37 catches for 401 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Possessing elite speed, Rogers is also a standout track athlete. Over the last year he has recorded a personal-best 6.61 seconds in the 55-meter dash and registered a 10.74 in the 100-meter and 37.6 in the 300-meter.

Rogers had planned to take an official visit to Bloomington this summer on June 12, but now that he is South Bend bound, that visit won't happen. Looking ahead, Cignetti and company will now prepare for a big upcoming month of April on the recruiting trail.
