Indiana's 2027 recruiting class took a hit earlier this month with the decommitment of 4-star WR Ja'Hyde Brown. Brown originally committed to the Hoosiers back on January 10, but rescinded that pledge two months later on March 12.

Now, Brown has announced his new college football destination less than three weeks after his decommitment from Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers.
Former Indiana commit Ja'Hyde Brown commits to Louisville
On Monday afternoon, Rivals' Hayes Fawcett reported that Brown has committed to the Louisville Cardinals.
Brown's recruiting grade of 0.8915 from the 247Sports Composite made him the second highest-rated player in Indiana's 2027 class. With Brown no longer in the picture, Indiana's 2027 recruiting class fell outside the top-20 in the 247Sports Football Recruiting Team Rankings. Now, IU sits at No. 30 in the country.

Cignetti and Indiana face a big recruiting month in April
Indiana's 2027 recruiting class currently features four players: 4-star CB Monsanna Torbert Jr, 3-star QB Jameson Purcell, 3-star S Garyon Hobbs, and 3-star OT Jeremiah Jones. As Cignetti and his staff continue to build the class up, they face a pivotal month of April.
Indiana has an impressive slate of upcoming visits from some of the top prospects in the country. A total of five visits are scheduled for the weekend of April 17. Among prospects coming to Bloomington that weekend include 4-star WR Khalil Taylor, who is ranked as the No. 13 wide receiver in the country by 247Sports.
The weekend of April 24 is also shaping up to be a big one, as nine prospects are slated to be on campus. 5-star WR Monshun Sales will be part of that group, and Cignetti is trying to keep the prized Lawrence North product in the Hoosier State. Sales is the No. 1 wide receiver in the country for the 2027 class and one of the most sought-after players out there.
With Brown leaving for Louisville, it's crucial that Cignetti and the Hoosiers put on a strong showing during their April visits.
