The month of May has been a big one in terms of recruiting for Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers. Cignetti has added four commitments to Indiana's 2027 recruiting class, which now features a total of seven players. There is still plenty of work to be done, but Cignetti and the Hoosiers have found some serious recruiting momentum over the last week.
Opening odds for Indiana-Ohio State signal serious Game of the Year potential
With Official Visit season set to be in full force this weekend, Cignetti and company have a chance to end the month on another high note. Indiana is set to host a plethora of prized recruits to campus this weekend, and among them is 3-star RB Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes. With his decision date looming, Indiana is trending in the right direction to land the Washington, D.C. native.
Indiana trending in the right direction for RB target Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes
In March, Talley-Rhodes announced that his six finalists included Indiana, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Washington, and Boston College.
On Tuesday, Talley-Rhodes took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that he has moved his decision date up to Wednesday, June 3. The move is significant for several reasons, and all of them seem to benefit the Hoosiers.
I will be announcing my commitment June 3rd!

In addition to moving his commitment date up, Talley-Rhodes will also now be taking an official visit to Indiana this weekend starting on Friday, May 29. His visit was originally scheduled for the weekend of June 19.
Furthermore, the 6'0" 213-pound tailback has also cancelled his visit to Wisconsin, which was planned for the weekend of June 5. He is still slated to visit Penn State on June 12, but depending on his commitment decision, that visit may not take place either.
Given the fact that Talley-Rhodes moves his decision date up to just a few days after his Indiana visit is set to conclude, things are looking good for the Hoosiers. Recruiting experts agree.
Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes predicted to land in Bloomington
Shortly after Talley-Rhodes announced his decision to move his commitment date up, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong posted a prediction for Indiana to land the 3-star RB. That is significant when considering the fact that Wiltfong is 8-for-8 on his predictions so far in 2027 and 54-for-62 (.87.1%) all-time.
Earlier this month, Wiltfong correctly predicted that Indiana would secure commitments from 3-star WR Jordan Carrasquillo and 4-star OT Mason McDermott. For what it's worth, Wiltfong has also announced a prediction for Indiana to land 5-star WR Monshun Sales.
Talley-Rhodes is ranked as the No. 1 overall player in Washington, D.C. and the No. 30 RB in the country by 247Sports. Playing for St. John's College High School in the nation's capital, Talley-Rhodes was named First Team All-Washington D.C. metro area after rushing for 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns during his junior season.
Indiana's 2027 recruiting class doesn't yet feature a running back, but a commitment from Talley-Rhodes next week could change that. Hoosier fans are hoping this weekend's visit goes well and will then be waiting with bated breath when June 3 rolls around.
