All eyes of the college football world are on 5-star WR Monshun Sales this week. Sales is one of the most coveted prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, and he has yet to announce his commitment decision. But that will change this week, as the Lawrence North High School product is set to make his decision this Friday, July 17.

Curt Cignetti's winning has made him one of college football's biggest villains

Curt Cignetti has the Hoosiers firmly in the running, and could even be considered the team to beat. But as Indiana football fans continue waiting for Friday's decision to come around, the hype surrounding Sales continues to increase with the latest Rivals national recruiting rankings.

5-star Indiana target Monshun Sales moves up in Rivals recruiting rankings

On Monday, Rivals released its updated rankings of the Top-300 players in the country for the 2027 recruiting cycle. Sales has always been near the top of the list, and now he is even closer to the top spot.

Sales is now heralded as the No. 7 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He was previously ranked as the No. 8 overall player. So while it isn't the biggest jump in the world, his move up in the Top-10 certifies the hype surrouding his looming commitment decision.

Sales is still ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the class, trailing only 5-star Texas commit Easton Royal in that category. Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are a finalist in Sales' recruitment, so it will be interesting to see if Royal's pledge to Texas has any impact on Sales' decision.

Monshun Sales can make history with a commitment to Indiana

Sales' final list of contenders includes Indiana, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, and LSU. There's nothing Indiana fans would love to see more than Cignetti besting those blue blood programs in the Sales Sweepstakes. IU fans are feeling good about their chances, as the Rivals Industry Consensus is giving Indiana a strong 81.7% chance to be Sales' final landing spot.

If he ultimately decides to head to Bloomington, Sales would become the highest-ranked high school commit in Indiana football history. The Hoosiers have never landed a 5-star prospect from the high school ranks, and keeping Sales in The Hoosier State would be a resounding win for Cignetti and his staff.

Sales is coming off an impressive junior season in which he racked up 37 catches for 794 yards and 9 touchdowns. Heading into his senior campaign, the 6'5" 195-pound wideout is poised to put up even bigger numbers this fall.

Not only does Indiana have an in-state advantage when it comes to Sales' recruitment, but Hoosier star receiver Omar Cooper Jr. also played at Lawrence North. Cooper turned into a First Round NFL Draft pick under Cignetti's leadership, and Hoosier football fans are hoping that development is appealing enough to Sales to earn a commitment. It also helps to be coming off an undefeated season and National Championship.

Sales will announce his commitment on Friday live on The Pat McAfee Show at Noon ET.
